Denver Event Founders

Kim and Meg Phillips

When Rich Phillips, husband to Meg and father to Kim and Kara, passed away from pancreatic cancer in 2005, the family wanted to do something to honor him, as well as bring attention and funding to this devastating disease.  They did not want other families to experience the loss they had felt from losing their loved one to pancreatic cancer. They wanted to make a difference!

So in 2006, Meg Phillips and her daughters, Kim and Kara traveled from Denver to Boston to see a Lustgarten Foundation Pancreatic Cancer Research Walk first hand. They decided they wanted to go back home to Denver and duplicate it.

The Inaugural Denver Pancreatic Cancer Research was created in 2007 and to-date has raised $200,000. The walk has brought together a community of people whose common interest is finding better treatments, early detection and ultimately a cure for pancreatic cancer.
The mother - daughter team is truly making a difference!
