Cancer in Colorado, 1998-2003: Incidence, Mortality, and Survival is a publication of the Colorado Central Cancer Registry, which reports statewide, population-based cancer incidence, early detection, survival, and mortality data.This report contains information on data sources and collection, and technical notes explaining the statistical methods used. Data describing Colorado statewide incidence, early detection, and mortality statistics are presented for all cancers combined and 27 separate kinds of cancer for 1998-2002 and 2003. Comparisons to U.S. cancer incidence and mortality are included for 1998-2002. Five-year cancer survival statistics are displayed for cancer cases diagnosed during 1993-1996 and 1997-2000. Additional tables present 1993-2003 cancer incidence counts and rates by year for over 70 kinds of cancer and 1993-2003 cancer mortality counts and rates by year for 30 selected kinds of cancer. Incidence and mortality rates are age-adjusted and displayed by gender and race/ethnicity. Early detection percentages and survival rates are also displayed by gender and race/ethnicity.
